Introduction
Omelette is a sweet of savoury dish made from beaten whole eggs, cooked in a frying pan, and served plain or with various additions. The omelette is a common dish known worldwide. It’s origin dates far back to ancient Persia. The word “Omelette” is of French origin and came into use during the mid-16th century. This dish is ideal for breakfast but can also be served for lunch and dinner as light meals.

 

Ingredients


- 2 eggs, beaten
- 50g / 2oz grated cheese
- Cooking oil
- Half an onion in sliced pieces
- Half a tomato in sliced pieces
- Parsley flakes for garnishing

 

Utensils

- Nonstick Frying Pan

- Spatula

 

Cooking Instructions

STEP 1: Prepare the Pan

Place pan over medium heat until warm
Pour small amount of cooking oil into pan

 

STEP 2: Cook the Omelette

 

Place onions and tomatoes into pan
Stir continuously for 2-3 minutes

 

Pour beaten eggs into pan
Gently stir continuously until eggs start to set
As you stir, angle pan so raw eggs cook well

 

Add grated cheese to middle of omelette in a line then gently fold omelette up.

 

How to Serve

Garnish with a small sprinkle of parsley flakes

 


Then serve immediately

 

A cheese omelette can be served by itself or with toasted bread for an ideal breakfast. For lunch and dinner you can add rice for a more complete meal.
